Nacho Pizza

Mix up your pizza nights with this delicious Mexican nacho pizza recipe. Loaded with seasoned ground beef and topped with tortilla chips and all your favorite nacho toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 16 ounces lean ground beef (450g)
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 2 pre made pizza bases (can also make your own crust or use a pre made frozen dough)
  • 4 tablespoons taco sauce or enchilada sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (divided) I used a Mexican taco blend, but most shredded cheeses will work well.
  • 3 tablespoons jarred jalapeños
  • 3 tablespoons sliced black olives (I used kalamata)
  • 4 tablespoons salsa
  • 1 cup tortilla chips
  • sour cream
  • fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a skillet on a medium high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and brown.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning, and cook for a few minutes until the beef is quite dry.
  • Preheat the oven to 400F / 200c.
  • Spread half of the taco sauce on each pizza base in an even layer.
  • Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese, holding a couple of tablespoons back, over each pizza.
  • Add on half of the jalapenos, olives and salsa to each pizza.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, crush the tortilla chips and place on the pizzas and spinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake for another 5 minutes til the base is crispy.
  • Drizzle with sour cream, sprinkle with fresh cilantro and serve.

Notes

  • The measurements for the toppings (other than the beef) are a guideline only. You measure the amount of cheese with your heart!
  • This recipe makes 2 full sized pizzas, and the recipe is easily halved for one.
  • Adjust the spicy ingredients to suit your tastes.
