Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces kahlua
  • 1 ounce creme de cocoa
  • 1 ounce grand marnier
  • orange and sugar to rim the glasses
  • ice

Instructions

  • Cut an orange in half and wipe it around the rim of your shot glasses. Dip the glasses into sugar to create the rim.
  • Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker and add the spirits. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • Pour into the shot glasses and shoot.

Notes

  1. Be sure to rim your glasses with the orange and sugar. The fresh orange is aromatic and you'll get a hit of sweetness as you down the shot and it really helps to add to the flavor.
  2. Shoot as soon as you've poured the drink. These shots aren't meant to be made ahead of time.
  3. Use a good handful of ice in the shaker. The shots are best served icy cold and they will also help to dilute the liquor a little.
