    • Quick and easy: The blender does all the hard work in this recipe, and with just 3 main ingredients needed it's simple to whip up in less than 10 minutes.
    • Make ahead: Once made this blueberry and lime drink will keep well for a couple of days, so it's a great option to have on hand during the summer.

Two glasses of blueberry limeade with mint.

    Ingredients and Notes

Ingredients needed to make blueberry limeade recipe.
    • Blueberries: I used wild blueberries that I had picked, but store-bought is just fine! You can use frozen blueberries but they need be be thawed before using.
    • Lime juice: I used bottled lime juice in this recipe for convenience. It worked great and meant it was ready to enjoy in minutes! You can of course juice fresh limes if you prefer, you would need 4 to 5 for this recipe.
    • Sugar: Use white granulated sugar.
    • Mint: Fresh mint leaves are blended in for a fresh flavor.
    • Garnish: Fresh mint, lime slices and blueberries.

    • Pour into glasses over ice cubes and garnish with a lime slice, a few blueberries and a mint sprig.

    Recipe Variations

    • Rather than blend the blueberries, you can make this recipe with my blueberry simple syrup instead. This will give a sweeter drink with a more vibrant jewel like color, but you will loose a little of that freshness. Both ways work great!
    • Instead of mint, try using fresh basil. This gives a different flavor that's just as delicious!
    • If you would like a slightly sweeter drink, you can blend in some honey or maple syrup. Taste and add some in if needed. It's best not to add sugar in after you have blended everything together as it may not dissolve fully and be a little grainy.
    • Top up the finished drinks with sparking water if you like a bit of fizz.
    • Make it a cocktail by adding in a shot of vodka, rum or gin.

    Make Ahead and Storage

If you are planning on making this blueberry limeade ahead of time, don't add the ice or it can dilute the drink. Cover and store in the fridge and it will keep well for up to 3 days. Give it a stir before serving as the smaller bits of pulp will settle.
