Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to pep myself up if I'm feeling a bit sluggish after some over indulging.

Super quick and easy to make, this healthy drink is loaded with vitamins and minerals and is sure to perk you up in no time.

It's super fresh in flavor without being too sweet, and it's made with Greek yogurt for a nice creamy texture. Oh, and it's easy to make vegan too!

If you have any mango left over, be sure to try my Mango Coconut Smoothie which is equally as delicious!

    Ingredients

    • Mango: This tropical fruit is a great source of vitamin C and antioxidants, as well as containing folate and vitamins A, K, E and B.
    • Spinach: Spinach is rich in vitamins K, A and C and is a great source of iron, folate and magnesium.
    • Orange Juice: Use freshly squeezed orange juice if you can, and use pure and unsweetened if you buy it.
    • Milk: You can use any kind of milk for this smoothie. I used dairy, but oat, almond and coconut will all work well.
    • Yogurt: I like to use Greek yogurt for an extra boost of protein, but plain yogurt will work just fine too.
    • Honey: This is optional, depending on how sweet you like your smoothies.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make it ahead of time?

Smoothies are best enjoyed as soon as you've made them. As soon as fruits and vegetables are blended, they start to lose their nutrients due to oxidization. If you can drink it straight away, cover the drink in the fridge and consume within 24 hours.

Can you use frozen or fresh fruit?

You can use fresh or frozen mango in this recipe. I like to use frozen as that way it's ready to use whenever I need. If you use fresh mango, you may want to add a couple of ice cubes to the blender to chill the drink.

How do you make it vegan?

This mango spinach smoothie is really easy to make vegan. Simply use a plant based milk and yogurt. If you want to use a sweetener, you can use maple syrup or stevia.

    Recipe Notes and Tips

    • Be sure to blend the mango spinach smoothie for at least a minute to make sure that everything is well blended and smooth.
    • If using fresh mango, make sure it is ripe. It will blend more easily and will be naturally sweeter in flavor.
