Nachos and pizza are quite possible too of my favorite foods, so why not combine them?!

This pizza is super easy to make, especially when you make it with a store bought pizza base like I did. Some days, I am all about the convenience!

Topped with taco seasoned ground beef, shredded cheese, jalapenos, black olives and salsa, before being finished with tortilla chips and sour cream, every bite is loaded with flavor and texture.

This pizza is one good reason to skip the takeout!

    Recipe Variations

The thing I love most about making your own pizzas is that you can easily make it your own by using different toppings, and this nacho pizza is no different. The measurements in the recipe below are a guide, if you want to go crazy with the toppings, I'm not going to stop you!

    • I used ground beef, but chicken will work well too as would ground sausage. Make these meat free bu using plant based 'meat' crumbles.
    • Feel free to add more or less shredded cheese. I used a Mexican taco blend, but any melty cheeses will work, like cheddar or mozzarella.
    • I used pickled jalapenos, but you can use fresh slices if you prefer. If you don't like things too spicy, you can omit these.
    • Frozen corn or black beans are both great additional toppings.
    • Try using different flavors of tortilla chips. Plain work great and lime ones add a great flavor.
    • Drizzling sour cream over the cooked pizza really helps to bring the flavors together. Try using a lime jalapeno sour cream for a burst of flavor.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make it ahead of time?

As with all pizzas, these are best enjoyed as soon as they are cooked, and it's best not to make them too far in advance as the sauce can make the crust soggy.

If you have leftovers, slices can be reheated in a pre heated oven at 400F / 200c for 5 to 10 minutes til heated through.

    What's the best pizza dough?

For this recipe I used a store bought pizza crust. It may not have a freshly made taste to it, but it absolutely does the job. You can use a frozen store bought dough or make your favorite base if you prefer.

How do you get a crispy pizza?

They key to any crispy pizza with a nice bite is heat. Set the oven as high as it will go and make sure it is fully pre heated. I like to place a baking sheet in the oven as it pre heats, and then place the pizza on that so that the bottm crisps up nicely.

Don't add too much sauce or wet toppings to your pizza either as this can cause the crust to get soggy.

    Recipe Notes and Tips

    • The measurements below for the toppings (other than the beef) are a guideline only. You measure the amount of cheese with your heart!
    • This recipe makes 2 full sized pizzas, and the recipe is easily halved for one.
    • Adjust the spicy ingredients to suit your tastes.
