    Ingredients

    • Whiskey: Fireball whiskey is flavored with cinnamon for one delicious sip!
    • Maple syrup: The whiskey is shaken with maple syrup for a complex sweetness. You can use a thin honey in a pinch.
    • Lemon juice: A little squeeze of fresh lemon juice helps to cut through the sweetness of the maple.
    • Cream: The shots are topped with a thin layer of cream. Use heavy or whipping cream that is 35% fat so that it sits on the surface of the shot.
    • Ground cinnamon: This is optional, but I like to finish the shots with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for added flare and aroma.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make these shots with other whiskeys?

Fireball whiskey gives these shots their cinnamon flavor, so they will taste different if you use a different type of whiskey. Saying that, they'd work well with a bourbon like Jack Daniels, that have a little sweetness to them.

How much alcohol is in this cinnamon Fireball shot?

This is a 1 ounce shot, so while it will get the party started, it won't leave you lying on the floor!

Can you make this shot into a cocktail?

Yes! If you prefer a longer drink, add the shaken Fireball and maple syrup to a whiskey glass over ice and then top it up with some apple juice.

    How to shake a cocktail

The whiskey and maple syrup need to be shaken so that they blend together and have a uniformed taste and texture. If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can use a glass mason jar with a lid. Add some ice to the shaker, followed by the ingredients. Shake well for about 30 seconds until the shaker is ice cold. Pour into glasses straight away.

How to layer cream onto the shots

When you top your cinnamon Fireball shot with the cream, don't pour it directly into the glass or it will sink to he bottom. Although it will still taste ok, it won't have the same appeal. Hold a teaspoon just touching the liquid, with the curved back pointing up, then very gently and slowly pour the cream over the back of the spoon so that it sits on top of the whiskey and maple mixture.

    Recipe Notes and Tips

    • Use fresh lemon juice rather than bottled for the freshest flavor.
    • You can replace the maple syrup with honey, but make sure it is a thin runny honey or the drink will be too thick.
    • Shake well with ice so that the whiskey is super cold - it's be much easier to drink.
    • I love the addition of the cream on top, but you ca skip it if you prefer, it will still be tasty!
