A cross between a quesadilla and a pizza, this cheesy garlic bread tortilla is a must try recipe! Based on a viral Tik Tok air fryer recipe, this hits all the right spots!

Cream cheese, shredded cheese and garlic butter are sandwiched between two tortillas, then more garlic butter and cheese on top for good measure. Oven baked in a few minutes until the cheese is gooey and stringy.

Perfect as an appetizer or as an indulgent side to go with pizza or pasta, once you try this you'll be making it time and time again!

    • Quick: If you've got a craving for something cheesy and garlicky, this bad boy is ready in less than 15 minutes.
    • So delicious: The only way I can describe this, is dirty good! Go on, treat yourself, you deserve it!
    • Dietary info: This garlic bread tortilla recipe is vegetarian. Make it gluten-free or low carb by using diet specific tortillas.

    Ingredients

    • Tortilla: This recipe requires two large flour tortillas.
    • Garlic: Fresh is best when it comes to the garlic in this recipe. Use a garlic press to mince the bulbs finely for a stronger flavor.
    • Butter: Use a good quality salted butter. If you use unsalted, add in a pinch of salt.
    • Cream cheese: Like Philadelphia. This is spread in between the two tortillas and creates the most wonderful creamy bite.
    • Shredded cheese: I like to use a strong cheddar, but most shredded cheeses will work well.

    Recipe Variations

This cheesy garlic bread tortilla is hands down delicious as it is, but you can easily make it your own!

    • Use a seasoned cream cheese, like herb or black pepper instead of plain.
    • Mix up the shredded cheese, just make sure it's one that melts fairly well so that the tortillas hold together.
    • Try adding pizza toppings! Pepperoni, pineapple and blue cheese all make wonderful additions!
    • Rather than use large tortillas, you can use the smaller ones that you use for tacos if you prefer.

This recipe makes for an excellent appetizer to share with friends, and it's perfect for game day or movie night!

It's also a great side to accompany pasta dishes and homemade pizzas, try it with some of these favorites:

    Make Ahead and Storage

You can prep this garlic bread a couple of hours ahead of time, then just pop it in the oven when you are ready to serve. It is best right out of the oven, but you can reheat leftovers.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you cook it in an air fryer?

Sure! You will likely need to use the smaller flour tortillas to cook it in the air fryer so that it fits. Cook it at 375F / 190c for about 5 minutes till the edges brown.

Can you use garlic powder instead of fresh?

I much prefer the flavor of fresh garlic, but you can use garlic powder or garlic granules. Use ¾ teaspoon in place of the fresh garlic for this recipe.

Can you use corn tortillas instead of flour?

Corn tortillas will give a different texture and flavor, but will work well if you prefer them.
