This super refreshing and zingy Anti Inflammatory Smoothie is not only super tasty but it's amazingly good for you as well!  This drink is packed full of fresh ingredients that will brighten your skin and leave you feeling energized.

I don't know about you guys, but these grey and dark days are taking a toll on my energy levels! It's getting harder to get up in the morning and to feel motivated throughout the day - I'm having to give myself pep talks on the regular!  Now, I can't make spring come any faster, but I can make a drink that will awaken your taste buds and get you going for the day!

Anti Inflammatory Smoothie with Turmeric and Ginger

I really wanted to get some zing into this smoothie, and zing it does! Fresh ginger and lemon juice tickle the taste buds and the orange juice and mango add a natural sweetness while the turmeric adds a beautiful earthy quality to the drink.

As always, use the freshest ingredients you can lay your hands on for maximum flavour and goodness.  Either squeeze your own orange juice or buy fresh - don't use the stuff with tonnes of sugar and preservatives in.

Get anti inflammatories into your diet

As my regular readers will know, I am no dietician!  There's other blogs for that shizzle, but, if unless you've been living under a rock, you will know how important it is to get anti inflammatory foods into your diet.  It's the perfect way to boost your immune system and can help guard against those nasties like cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's and depression. Check out this article from Harvard to learn more from people far more qualified than me!

This smoothie is packed full of anti inflammatory ingredients, orange, lemon, ginger and turmeric are all well known for their healthy properties.  Oh, it's also damn tasty too - this is a food blog after all 😉

The Anti Inflammatory Smoothie is perfect for breakfast

The beauty of this smoothie - and all my smoothies! - is that they are a great option for a quick breakfast.  Just chop the ginger and mango, throw everything into a blender and you are good to go.  The citrus flavours really awaken those tastebuds, and you will have a belly full of goodness to face the day!

If you prefer a slightly thicker smoothie, add in a handful of oats for a fibre hit, and if you prefer a sweeter smoothie, just add in a squirt of honey.
